Today Lloyds Register Quality Assurance recommended Technical Engineering Group for AS 9100 Rev B and ISO 9001:2008 certification. This internationally recognised standard further recognises the quality of the parts supplied by the company to aerospace companies. During the audit the company demonstrated that it implemented and maintained a strong management system.

A recent study established that the new NG Feeder doubles the output of a blister line.

It draws on the success of the NG feeder range previously supplied by Electro-mec Ltd, a leading name in precision engineering for over four decades. TechnicalPharma acquired Electro-mec’s pharmaceutical interests in February 2009.

NG Feeder’s features

Designed on a modular basis, the new NG Feeder can be tailored to the precise combination of web width and draw of individual customers.

Its compact dimensions mean that up to three individual units can be installed and run side by side on a standard length blister machine. This allows fast and accurate filling of multi-product blisters, with individual control of each product.

Other advantages of the new NG Feeder include:

• Touch screen controls on a pendant controller, so adjustments can be made during operation
• No need to replace tooling — it accepts existing change part tooling (with adaptor plate)
• All tooling is secured by pneumatic cylinders (more user friendly and practical)
• Accepts existing EMF change parts and is cGMP compliant — no fasteners that can fall off

These were for:

• Glaxo Smith Kline, to improve the productivity of feeding two tablets into a single blister pocket
• Takeda,  successfully feeding tablets with track tolerances of +/- 0.005mm
• Servier, including the installation of a complete Brush Box on a IMA line that lifts via a hinge mechanism for rapid changeovers / restarts after web breakage. An intricately designed feeder for an Uhlmann line was also supplied which produces the highest possible feed rates for the particular machine

The exhibition is the UK’s annual showcase for processing and packaging machinery, and takes place at the NEC in Birmingham.

Now entering its 21st year, the exhibition showcases the latest innovative production line solutions to enhance productivity, efficiency and flexibility in a wide range of industries including pharmaceuticals.

The state’s industrial development agency, IDA Ireland, has agreed to sell a 0.9-hectare site on Ardmore Business Park in Mullingar, County Westmeath. The Technical Engineering Group will be the first occupant in this new premier business park.

Westmeath County Council has given the green light for the development of the new production unit, ancillary offices and parking.

TechnicalAviation is now project managing the delivery of the lease plates and associated paperwork such as EASA Form 1 documentation to any global location within two weeks of receiving instructions from SR Technics.

SR Technics is one of the world’s leading providers of technical solutions to airlines, including component, engine and technical services for Boeing and Airbus aircraft.

TechnicalAviation is a division of the Technical Engineering Group, and manufactures parts for the aviation sector to approved design specifications and using production processes certified by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).

It was the first appearance by the company’s TechnicalAviation division at a major industry event since receiving European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) certification last April.

This year’s show featured over 2,000 exhibitors from 48 countries, and 142 aircraft were on display.

The show’s 100th anniversary was also celebrated with flight demonstrations from 30 vintage aircraft, reminders of the pioneering early years of aviation from 1909 to 1960.
